We’re used to getting paged, or called from the Coastguard Control Centre in Falmouth. If you call 999 and ask for help, they call us to launch the lifeboat.
And they did that a lot on Sunday. Witha strong offshore breeze, we spent most of the afternoon picking up kayakers and paddleboarders who were getting blowen out to sea. Twenty people in all.
But on Monday we had a different kind of call. This time it was the BBC on the phone. They’d heard about our twenty rescues, and wanted to find out more. So Johnny Rutherford and his cameraman, Thomas came to see the lifeboat in action.
