The weather was beautiful on Sunday – perfect for a nice walk on the beach. Unfortunately for one young lady the tides were tricky and she found herself cut off by the rising tide near Bigbury.
Thankfully the young lady had a phone with her so she could call for help, and she was able to give the 999 controllers a very accurate description of her position so she was easy to spot. The beach lifeguards from Bantham reahed her and transferred her safely back to shore. It was a busy day on the water with lots of surfers out so whilst they checked her over, we provided cover for all the surfers enjoying the autumn sunshine and surf.
Please remember if you’re walking along the shores to check the tides before you go, and it’s always a good idea to take a means of communication with you, just in case.
